Amber at Monte Sano

Updated: Aug 21, 2019

Last week I had a chance to meet a new friend, explore a new location and use a new piece of equipment; all with the end result of creating some fun portraits! Amber, an aspiring model in the Huntsville area, is the new friend. Monte Sano State Park was the new location, which I am excited to return to, so that I can take advantage of the hiking trails. The new piece of equipment I was trying out was a 34" beauty dish light modifier for my strobe. As for the portraits, you will see those below!

I loved the views from Monte Sano State Park! The mountain reaches above 1,600 feet and overlooks Huntsville. Monte Sano is Spanish for "mountain of health," and it is said the people have visited here for the mineral springs and fresh air since the 1800s.

Throughout our session, I enjoyed visiting with Amber. She shared with me her love of animals, training dogs and passion for yoga. Amber did some fun yoga poses for me to capture.

In Monte Sano State Park, there is a small section of old railroad which originally ran from the Huntsville Depot up to Hotel Monte Sano, a resort which closed in the early 1900s. Amber and I used this spot to change up the mood.

The last spot we shot at was an overlook at the furthest point inside the park.

A special thanks to Amber! It was wonderful to get to know you while we explored some of the parks views!
